Cabarete: Kaoba Reviews: "Not worth the money"
user: a Hotel-DominicanRepublic.com user , united states of america - date posted: July 6, 2005
I was in room 130B, which is near the back of the grounds. The walk way would flood after each rain, a gap under the door big enough for large bugs to walk in; the doors on this building stick; so the sound of slamming doors was common. The refrigerator was rusted, the bedspread had a cigarette hole in it and the sheet and towels were old and course. Last, when I came back from breakfast (about 10:00am) I informed the girl at the decks I would be checking out about noon and that a taxi would be coming for me. About 12:30 I went to the front desk and asked if the taxi had come and she said yes “I called your room, but you not answer”. I did not answer because the phone did not work. I wish my computer did not work when I was making this reservation.

Cabarete: Kaoba Reviews: "Nice quiet small hotel"
user: a Hotel-DominicanRepublic.com user , netherlands - date posted: October 4, 2004
I was at this hotel in September 2004. The hotel garden's atmosphere is one of peace and rest, except when a breadfruit drops out off the trees sometimes. But serious, this is a very peaceful and quiet hotel where you forget and won't have the idea that you're in the middle of a very busy village center. The hotel doesn't provide any animation. So when you're with kids, you better look for another hotel. Actually I think it's a perfect place to stay when you want a part of all, a fantastic nightlife at 100 meters from the hotel, a perfect beach at even about 50 meters from the hotel and the quiet surroundings of the garden and the pool. The hotel doesn't provide in dinner. Just a breakfast, but better get something in town. The kitchen and cooking are not that great, just the coffee and fresh fruit are perfect. When you had enough of the dinners you can get in town (from Chinese to Italian, fish, lobster and other seafood) ask the girls at the desk or hotel bar to order something for you. Ask for typical Dominican food. You can choose between pork, beef, chicken or fish with fried potatoes or French fries and a salad. It's really cheap, be friendly to the girls and offer them to pay for them too and offer them to eat together. (They have to pay themself when they want to have diner and they just get about 100US$ per month). The highest bill I had was about 12.50 euro (US$ 15.33 at Sept 2004) for 5 people. When you do, you made friends for the rest of your vacation.
