Why Luperon?
The beach at Luperon sits in a large bay, and offers a wonderful setting with its' soft white sand and incredible clear waters. The beauty of the beach at Luperon is the fact that it is so sheltered and offers plenty of shade, with numerous palm trees lining the sand.
Luperon is great for snorkelling, with an abundance of coloured tropical fish found in the bay, and the beach-front hotels can arrange all manner of watersports. Souvenir stalls line the walkway to the beach, and the village, with its' colourful wooden homes, offers more gift shops selling local crafts. Basic pensions are available in the village of Luperon, more suited to the independant or budget traveller.
The Puerto Blanca Marina, a popular docking spot for vessels of all sizes, sits just outside the town of Luperon, and provides the only safe harbour in the Dominican Republic.
